摘要

The possibility for silica nanopowder production in both forms: non-aggregated and aggregated is considered. The powders are synthesized under atmospheric pressure by thermal arc plasma method. The raw material is silica sand. In some cases it is mixed with carbon. The synthesis conditions are considered and factors such as particle growth temperature and particle residence time influencing the particle aggregation are found. It is shown that the use of carbon leads to decreasing of particle growth temperature and residence time and as a result to production of nano-scaled aggregates.
