In this study, the heat transfer which combined the natural convection of working fluid around tubes with the melting of phase change material inside tubes were studied numerically and experimentally. Three horizontal tubes were arranged in-line or staggered row. These were immersed in working fluid quietly. Numerical results were compared with experimental data. Results are presented as melting characteristics of phase change material, temperature distributions, flow patterns and melting fraction.
