It is proposed new module of water-cooled exchanger for packed bed adsorber of desiccant cooling system aiming at miniaturization by high-density filling and high-efficiency utilization. In this study, characteristics of water vapor adsorption in silica-gel packed bed was clarified to comprehend heat and mass transfer mechanism in the adsorber. For numerical simulation, film mass transfer coefficient and internal mass transfer coefficient were respectively taken into account. Applying the simulation to proposed water-cooled adsorber, it is found that it is possible to reduce the volume of adsorber to 30-45% of that of the conventional ones.
