High efficiency or gas absorption may be one of the important technique for protection of global environment. We have proposed a new concept of gas absorption by utilizing condensation process. This study was conducted to get the higher performance of the absorption system through the enhancement of condensation heat transfer by wavy flow, which condensate flow direction was against to the vapor flow in vertical cooled pipes. The effect of the counter-current wavy flow on the condensation rate was clarified in relation to the pattern and condition of occurrence of the wavy flow and flooding due to the shear forces between the interface of liquid and vapor flow.
