Briquette Test Scale-Up

Midrex Technologies has an extensive history of testing briquettes, and an equally broad resume of commissioning commercial facilities with briquetting presses. Recent testing with electric arc furnace dust has lead to an in-depth look at the problems associated with making the jump from lab-scale briquette testing to commercial-scale briquetting operations. This paper will discuss the specific problems associated with making the jump from briquette testing data gathered in a lab to commercial operations, and how Midrex is bridging the gap by erecting our own “commercial facility”.
