Investigating fluctuating surface pressure fields underneath separation bubbles on sharp-edged, three-dimensional, surface-mounted, bluff bodies in turbulent boundary layer flows is important as these are related to the forces acting on buildings in the wind. The distributions of the fluctuating pressures are dependent on the turbulence properties in the upstream flow and are different from the pressures acting on bluff bodies in a uniform, smooth flow. The paper presents results from time-resolved Particle Image Velocimetry and synchronized pressure measurements taken above the roof of surface-mounted prisms.
