This study is aimed to anlyse the tooth stress of helical gears for the static loading condition. A three dimensional model has been created for the analysis. The analysis involves three phases. First phase is modelling of helical gear tooth and contact lines. The second phase is stress analysis and the third phase is influence of manufacturing and assembly errors on stress on the gear tooth. The helical gear is modeled with best set of parameters, for the constant power transmission, different set of gears are analyzed. The gear geometry has been developed. Single tooth is considered for the analysis. In finite element portion, 8-noded isoparametric, brick element with incompatible mode is considered to evaluate the stresses at various instant of gear rotation considering different contact line position. Usual error which occurs while manufacturing and assembly are considered and finite element analysis is carried out.
