Industry-University Educational Cooperation: A University Perspective

摘要

This paper gives a university perspective of educational cooperation with industry. After a general discussion of the motivations for (or against) such cooperation, specific examples and lessons learned from them are given using the Interfaculty Offshore Technology curriculum at the Delft University of Technology as an example. Indeed, cooperation in this program is more far-reaching than in most. Even though people seem to be able to find more arguments not to cooperate with industry in the classroom, it is concluded that cooperation has a very positive effect.
