A procedure for designing a laminated composite sandwich panel-form loudspeaker with high radiation efficiency is presented. The laminated composite sandwich panel radiator is fabricated with two fiber reinforced face laminates and a foam plastic core. The procedure for designing the panel radiator constitutes four parts, ie, vibration analysis of the panel, identification of material constants, sound pressure level spectrum analysis of the panel radiator, and optimal design of the radiating panel.
