Owing to the explosive development of application fields of thin films, methodologies for preparation and analysis of thin films have been extensively investigated. Over the years a number of experimental techniques have been developed to investigate the static and dynamic structures of thin films. Among these, photothermal spectroscopy is a versatile technique which combines high time resolution, interfacial selectivity, high sensitivity and in situ measurements.
