Super-alloys are used in high temperature industrial applications because of their resistance to high-temperature oxidation and longer durability than other conventional alloys. The current research includes the high temperature oxidation behavior of IN-738LC at 850, 900, and 950 deg C in dry air for 300 hours. The oxidation kinetics is found to be parabolic in nature. Due to its parabolic nature, the lattice diffusion is prominent in various oxide formations. The surface oxide formation is investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).
