Ferrous and nonferrous ores usually content pyrite. During their enrichment pyrite mainly goes into the concentrates and tails. Only Kazakstan's metallurgical enterprises produced more than 6.0 millions tons a year of pyrite bearing concentrates containing of nonferrous metals. Roasting of pyrite concentrates with limited quantities of oxygen in gaseous phase gives us possibility to produce rich with SO_2 elemental sulfur bearing gases. Thermodynamics calculation and technological investigations show that this sulfur bearing gases may be used for sulfidization of oxidized nonferrous components. Using of this process gives possibility to involve into the processing hard to enrich oxidized nonferrous ores. Involvement into processing of hard to enrich oxidized zinc-lead bearing ores is possible by combining the process of preliminary sulfidization roasting of oxidized compounds with pyrite with subsequent magnetic and flotation enrichment of products of sulfidization. The investigation have proved a possibility of obtaining hydrophobic zinc and lead sulfides as the result of sulfidization. The hydrophoby of pyrite dissociation products decreases in the process of roasting with simultaneous increase of magnetic permeability of pyrrhotite formed during pyrite decomposition.
