Dr. Gerald Cole has a BaSc in Engineering Physics, an MA in Applied Mathematics and a PhD in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Toronto. His career includes 1 year in Grenoble with the French Atomic Energy Commission, 2 years in Mexico with the UN, 6 months as a foundry superintendent and 7 years as a manager of Ford Research's physical analysis activity. He is currently a Senior Staff Technical Specialist with the Ford Research Laboratory's Manufacturing Systems Department. Jerry is a director of the International Magnesium Association, and past director of several organizations: the International Metallographic Society, the American Foundry Society Detroit Chapter, USCAR's Automotive Materials Partnership's Light Metals Division, and the Environmental Research Consortium's Casting Emissions Reduction Program. Jerry is a fellow of ASM International, and is listed in American Men/Women of Science as well as three Who's Who.
