Of the large number of biologically active peptide known,relatively few have been exploited for routine clinical use,primarily as a consequence of their poor bioavailability and rapid enzymatic degradation.Glycosylation can be used as a means to address these problems,potentially allowing the glycopeptides produced to utilise active transport processes and/or grain improved resistance to metabolism.
