We have investigated the electrical and photoinduced transport properties of single or double-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs or DWNTs) encapsulating various atoms or molecules via plasma processing. Some interesting transport phenomena such as electron transfer, rectifying transport characteristic, negative differential resistance, photoinduced transport characteristic, etc. are experimentally found in various atoms or molecules encapsulated nanotubes.
