Performance of armored versus dielectric sheath designs for fiber optical cable

摘要

Reliability of fiber optical cable systems is the key to low-cost operations. This paper will review the use of longitudinally formed copolymer-coated steel armoring tape to protect fiber optical cable from natural and manmade hazards in the environment. The advantages of having an armored cable versus dielectric will be reviewed.
