Efforts are being made by an AFS group and others in the field to provide reliable information about dimensional properties of investment castings. Under the author's direction, more than 25,000 dimensional measurements were made of small and medium size steel investment castings from production batches. Special batches of castings were made in an effort to understand some of the dimensional variations encountered. This information is presented in hope that it might be useful to those making and using investment castings.
