5-Methoxypsoralen (5-MOP) is commonly associated with UV radiation in the photo-chemical treatment of several dermatoses, such as psoriasis and vitiligo~1. The typical regimen, in accordance to the guidelines of the European Cooperative Clinical Trials~2, prescribes oral administration of the drug (1.2 mg/Kg), followed by UV irradiation 3 hours after administration. systemic treatment is mandatory in the case of diffused psoriasis, but can be replaced by topical treatment when the number and extension of psoriatic plaques allow it.
