HEMATOLOGY AND BLOOD CHEMICAL VALUES IN SWINE OF VENEZUELA

Normal blood values are defined here as those of clinically healthy, normally developed animals kept under usual housing conditions and fed balanced rations. The problem of borderline physiologic variables, however, there are who postulated that normal values must be used in the diagnostic laboratory as "working values". Sometimes variations do occur among different laboratories.(l)Therefore, each one must have its own established reference ranges or working values: values obtained from the literature must be regarded only as approximations. These normal values represent a good diagnostic aid for the assessment of pathology in the animal.(2,3,4) The objective of this study was to establish the normal values in hematology and blood chemical in swineunder ours conditions in Venezuela.
