The tensile creep tests of SiC fiber reinforced SiCcomposites at 1000-1300 C were conducted. The apparent stressexponent and activation energy for creep increase with adecrease in stress. The threshold stress approach was used tointerpret the experimental data. Creep of SiC matrix is attributedto the rate-controlling process for the creep of the SiC/SiCcomposites. Creep fracture mechanism and life predictionmethod were also discussed.
