A commercial chemical sensor array system has been applied to analyse fresh milk from dairy cows with different off-flavours in parallel with sensory assessment. It was demonstrated that the standardised method could be used for the classification of milk with and without feed-off flavours. Using milk reference samples for calibration in combination with drift compensation algorithms showed that it is possible to maintain a satisfactory long-term reproducibility of the sensor array system.
