The successful application of innovative technologies in simple control circuits, such as fuzzy logic, has awakened the hope in recent eyars that systematic solutions of this type could be easily transferred to complex processes. In view of the technical and economic limits of conventional cntrol technologies, much attention is being given to integrating plant-specific kjnowldege more effectively 9in control designs. Verbal knowledge forms the basis in this case for decisive contribution in the application of control technologies.
