The method involves supplying irritant gas by a central nozzle and a secondary air though a mantle nozzle concentrically including the central nozzle and forming a ring cross section. Secondary air stream in a combustion chamber (3) encases the irritant gas stream. Direct heat exchange between an exhaust gas and the secondary air is kept low through a small dimensioned direct contact area within the mantle nozzle. An independent claim is also included for a thermal waste treatment equipment executing a method for thermal treatment of waste and/or compensation fuel in a combustion chamber.
