Is there a signature in gravitational waves from structure formation of the Universe ?

We study the generation of a background of gravitational waves (GWs)produced from a cosmological Population of core-collapse supernovae in an explosivescenario of structure formation of the Universe. We show that these pre-galacticsupernovae can produce a stochastic background of gravitational waves with maximumamplitude as high as hBc ~10~(-22)at frequency of ~ 50Hz. This background GWswill probably be detected by VIRGO and LIGO.
