Infrared laser-induced photopolymerization of different acrylate monomers, with 1,3,3,1',3',3'-hexamethyl-11-chloro-10,12-propylenetricarbo-cyanine triphenylbutylborate as the photoinitiator, was investigated in this paper. The photopolymerization proceeded readily under the irradiation of infrared laser, which has the output wavelength of 796nm, and crosslinked network was obtained from the drop of the 1635cm~-1 and 1620 cm~-1 peak (C=C stretching) in FTIR spectra. It was found that the mobility restriction resulted in remarkable influence on the photopolymerization rate.
