A radiation curable coating composition is provided and includes an effectiveamount of cationic photoinitiator, in combination with a charge transfercomplex, the charge transfer complex comprising at least one electronwithdrawing reactant component and at least one electron donating reactantcomponent free radically reactive therewith, the electron withdrawing reactantcomponent comprising an unsaturated nitrogen containing compound and theelectron donating reactant component comprising an unsaturated compound havingat least one vinyl ether group, the electron donating reactant component maybe separate from or structurally incorporated within the electron withdrawingreactant component and an effective amount of a cationic photoinitiator. Aphotopolymerization process employing the composition is also provided.
