The primary goals of the project are: to develop EU-adapted guidelines for procurement of energy-efficient equipment in industry, particularly the engineering industry; to promote the application and implementation of the guidelines among enterprises in the EU. Long-term objectives of the project are: · to change attitudes and procedures in the procurement of energy-intensive equipment in industry; · to define a readily usable system of procurement based on LCC calculation; · to create a set of guidelines that make it possible to check whether an item of equipment installed fulfils agreed performance specifications; · to encourage manufacturers in member countries of the EU to develop energy-optimised systems and products; · to reduce the consumption of energy in industry and thus also the environmental impact of energy production.
