This paper introduces the innovative results of the enhanced magnetic fluid (MF) microactuator. Reduced Response time and increased diaphragm deflection are derived from a MF (N304) and the changed number of corrugations on the parylene diaphragm optimized by FE analysis applied to the existing model. This paper also proposes a new design of peristaltic MF micropump based on the previous experiment data of the existing MF actuator for the purpose of applications of 'Lab on a chip' which is the core technology of the medical & biological fields. In this devices magnetic fluids are gathered in the round-shaped or polygon-shaped channels by magnetic force, which is applied by the external magnet. The concentrated MF lump can deform the parylene diaphragm and then deformed diaphragm pushed the fluids in another microchannel.
