摘要

Water management in proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) is one of the key factors which limit both power density and the durability [1, 2]. Particular challenges occur in the field of automotive propulsion applications, where different operation regimes (cold start, start-stop, e.g.) and dynamic load cycles have to be supported. This gives rise to substantial differences with respect to temperature and water distribution/saturation which have to be addressed by smart operation strategies, as well as optimized and robust cell components.
