Investigations of Unidirectional Transverse Prepreg Integrity in Relation to Processing Parameters

A transverse prepreg integrity testing methodology was developed in an effort to further understand the effects of unidirectional prepreg processing parameters and how they influence part manufacturing. This methodology compliments previously available characterization techniques such as tack, friction, and impregnation by providing new insight into prepreg handling characteristics. A quantitative comparison of the transverse integrity of prepregs developed with different prepreg processing parameters was performed using a designed experiment.
