Electric Motorcycles, Risk Management and how to Increase Safety

The number of motorcycles involved in fatal accidents is very high compared to cars. Despite this; the number of registered motorcycles increases by 4% each year and is now 25 million. Electric motorcycles are still in low numbers but are becoming more noticeable in the general traffic with 36% growth from Q1-2016 to Q2-2017. The research presented in this paper is focused on the safety of electric motorcycles defined as category L3e vehicles, by outlining unique characteristics, identifying potential risks and how electric motor cycles may increase safety.
