The DARPA Command Forces (CFOR) program produced several automated Command Entities (CEs). IST was tasked to evaluate the Army Ground Command Entity (AGCE) developed by SAIC for use in OneSAF to meet its automated commander representation requirement. The AGCE was originally written for ArmySF, a variant of ModSAF. Thus, IST ported the software to work with ModSAF 5.0 so that the AGCE could be included in the OneSAF Testbed. IST also made several improvements to the CFOR Environmental Utilities (EU), which represents the terrain for the CEs. These improvements have increased the usability and performance of the AGCE. This paper will describe the improvements made to AGCE and present performance results of these improvements. First, the paper will describe the usability enhancements implemented by IST. This will include the integration into ModSAF 5.0 and the removal of some third-party libraries that made configuration difficult. The paper will then describe the improvements made to the Environmental Utilities. The most important improvement is an improved algorithm to mark nogo areas on the terrain map. The paper will also present an improved version of the function to test whether two line segments intersect. Third, the paper will present the performance results obtained by improving the EU and integrating with ModSAF 5.0. Finally, the paper will discuss further work needed to meet the OneSAF requirements for automated military commanders.
