Experimental platform for supervision of complex automated systems

摘要

Research in the field of supervision involves several different sciences like automatic control, human sciences and ergonomics. Progress will come, firstly with improvements of existing supervisory tools, and secondly with the integration of new algorithms. However, with regard to the strong human presence in the supervision loop it is necessary to evaluate with human operators the supervisory tools which have been realized. Today, very often, studies in the field of supervision use process simulator and supervisor very specific with a realism which could be discussed. So, to solve this problem, an experimental platform dedicated to the study of supervision operators' activities with useful functions (simulation of feed-back controls, sequential command, simulation of failures, noise and so on) has been developed. This paper, after a synthesis about supervision, deals with the characteristics of the platform which includes a simulator, a supervisory software and a tool to analyse operator's activities.
