Robots in production automation

摘要

Industrial robots are a classical tool for production automation. They were applied for part and tool handling since 30 years. Meanwhile production automation has been changed dramatically under the influence of Al as well as robots used in this environment. Today "unintelligent" industrial robots, sensor equipped robots and "intelligent" robots are in use. Mobile and walking robots will be introduced in the nearest future. The recent development are "intelligent" mobile robots - called agents forming "multi agent systems". The paper gives an overview on the changing features of robots necessary for CIM to ims by application examples.
