摘要

This paper presents a study about a numerical model of the rotary friction welding of a pipe and API 6A flange. The process of the union is a new technic presented to replace the conventional fusion welding. To validate the numerical model, it was performed a union and acquired the temperature during the friction welding. After the process completed, the residual stress of the pipe was measured. The simulation had positive results and it is possible to predict the behavior of the welding with the numerical model.
