ABSTRACT Characterization of mechanical properties and microstructural analysis on grooved and non grooved friction welding of ASTM A335 P92/T92 steel In the never ending effort to improve the boiler and pressure vessel performance, companies are hunting to modify the materials to cope mainly with power demand and other applications. Modified chromoly steel (ASTM A335 P92) having the reputation of being used worldwide is a promising material that ensures greater rupture strength at elevated temperatures up to 650 °C. This invention investigates the impact of employing the characterization of grooved friction welding: bonding strength, mechanical, microstructural analysis and Post weld heat treatment that maximizes the susceptibility of properties through performance parameter
