In this paper, a low-temperature sintered ceramic method was developed to synthesize a new ceramic system Na_xK_(1-x)AlSiO_4 which belongs to a large family of high thermal- expansion materials. The thermal expansion coefficients of Na_xK_(1-x)AlSiO_4 ceramics were adjusted by controlling their composition and additives, a range of thermal expansion coefficients from 16.2 to 20.0 X 10~(-6)/°C were obtained. The Na_xK_(1-x) AlSiO_4 ceramic's crystal phase was identified by X-ray diffraction, and the relationship among the composition, crystal phase and thermal expansion performance of the Na_xK_(1-x)AlSiO_4 ceramic was discussed.
