摘要

Oral vaccination is theoretically reasonable to prevent the infection because it induces a vigorous immune response in mucosal surfacs of various organs, which are the most common site of the entry of infectious agents. However, many problems are still remained to be solved before promising the effectiveness of oral vaccine. Orally ingested antigens are considered to be unstable in the GI tract and Peyer's patches, the site of uptake of antigens, usually locates at the lower protion of the intestine. Therefore, some specific systems should be developed to deliver the enough amount of antigens to the most desirable sites with keeping their immune-activity.
