摘要

Two coils from HTSC Bi-based superconducting tapes wound on different bobbins are tested to find out the influence of the bobbin material on the coil's stability and quench propagation. In this paper the details of the coil design, of the experiment and of the method used for temperature measuring are described in details. We used differential thermocouples to provide precise measurements of the temperature distribution along the coils. The thermal quench parameters could be determined from the temperature or voltage traces measured.
