The follwing paper details the Software Audit Process model that is used in the Global System for Mobile Communications Base Station System (GSM BSS) organizaiton at Motorola.THis model is integrated into the existing project life cyucle and promotes continuous improvement by feeding back into the Process Improvement and technology (PIT) team.The project life cycle spans from requirements plannig to general availability of a software release.The objective of the audit process described is to ensure that the documented process is followed in every phase of the software development.In addition,the audit ensures the appriate documentation is collected and organized for future needs,such as customer audits.
