摘要

The performance of hollow fiber membrane modules depends stronly n fluid flows through the module. Fluid flow affects performance through the dependence of the chemical potential driving force for transport on how the lumen and shell fluids contact each other and the development of concentratioin boundary layers. Fluid flow in turn depends on module design parameters such as module aspect ratio, fiber size, fiber packing, and how fluids are introduced and removed from the module.
