Every hour, 17 Albertans are injured on the job. For injured workers under the age of 25, nearly 60% were injured during their first six months on the job. Young workers aged 15-24 represented 17% of working Albertans in 2002, yet they accounted for 20% of the injured workers. 27% of total claims resulted in 31 more days lost from work.
