The Design and Study on Interactive Distance-Learning System

Today, Internet has spread all over the world. At the same time, many Web based applications have emerged and developed rapidly and interactive distance-learning system is one among them.Internet, with its ability to connect people and information in every corner of the world, has a significant impact on education at various levels. There are some successful distance-learning systems abroad, and many research projects in our country. We have gained enlightenment from some successful examples, for instance, IRI(Interactively Remote Instructiopn) system in Britain, CORAL(Cooperative Remotely Accessible learning) system in Chinese Taipei. By integrating such advanced techniques as multimedia, communication,network, distributed and parallel process we intend to create an Interactive Distance Learning System(IDL System). The IDL System is superior to any other teaching form. It is especially suitable for thinly populated area, the disabled arid overseas employees who need training. The most important mechanism in the IDL System is communication. We accomplished these functions partially based on Web communication application. In the IDL System, class is a basic unit, and teacher is the center of it.
