A new method for extracting characteristic signal in epileptic EEG

Proposed is a new method that extracts the sharps and the spikes in the epileptic signal based on a non-linear energy operator and ICA which utilizes the differences of the statistical characteristics between epileptic characteristically signals and normal background EEG. The efficacy of teh proposed method has been tested with a clinical electroencephalogram (EEG).
