EROS is an Euler code for the aerodynamic simulation of unsteady flow fields around wing and multibladed rotor configurations. Its development, carried out within the Brite/EuRam EROS project, involves rotorcraft manufacturers, research centres and universities. The EROS solver embeds a user interface, a grid deformer, a Chimera tagger, a boundary element wake induced flow predictor and essentially two solution methodologies implemented within the dual-time method. It is able to solve the Euler equations on deforming and/or overlapping grids, to correct the boundary conditions using either an external wake model or the embedded one. This paper discusses the capabilities of the EROS Euler solver and presents its first results.
