On characterizing and classifying dynamical systems using poset concepts

In this paper we introduce a new method of characterizing and classifying the global behavior of nonlinear dynamical systems. The method is based upon various concepts used in the theory of posets or partially ordered sets. With this scheme a dynamical system can be assigned a set of characteristic numbers which convey to us the nature and complexity of the blobal behavior of the system.
