The effect of concentrated electrolytic(salt) solutions has been observed in several native clay soils and commercially available clays. Room temperature permeabilities obtained with the KCI brine were compared to the results of sampels tested with distilled water by falling head tests. A fixed-wall permeameter tests as well as flexible-wass permeameter and tracer tests were also carried out in order to evaluate the test scheme.
