Start-up and structural maintenance of the Jinchuan nickel giant flash furnace

This article describes start up parameters thathave been developed and refined over the years at the JinchuanNon-Ferrous Metals Corporation No.1 smelter. The specialprecautions taken to maintain the furnace structural integrity areemphasized and typical operating data during commissioning isalso presented and compared to those of typical practice.
