Start-up and structural maintenance of the Jinchuan nickel giant flash furnace

This article describes start up parameters that have been developed and refined over the years at the Jinchuan Non-Ferrous Metals Corporation No.1 smelter. The special precautions taken to maintain the furnace structural integrity are emphasized and typical operating data during commissioning is also presented and compared to those of typical practice.
