The trapped field of melt textured YBCO bulk cylinders (approx. 30mm Φ x 15mm) has been mapped at a temperature range from 12K to 85K. The samples fixed on a refrigerator cryostate were put into the warm bore of an 8T superconducting magnet. Single domain, multi domain and sintered ceramic samples have been compared. The results show no detectable intergrain currents at any temperature. A high sensitivity to flux jumps occurs below T = 20K. Mechanical strength of the superconducting material becomes important due to high magnetic forces at high fields. Despite the low temperatures the relaxation is high due to the high field gradient. 6.8T had been trapped at 12K. A trapped field of 10T can be expected if higher magnetizing fields were available.
